Tuesdays are the worst, it's the first day of my work week so I have to get up at 5am after sleeping in the previous 2 days.
If it wasn't for my tea stash I'd be snoring at my desk by lunch time. I love to drink loose leaf tea at home but prefer the convenience of bagged tea at work. White tea is great for work because it gives me just enough caffeine to keep me going but not enough to make me jittery like coffee does. Today I'm drinking Berryblossom white by Tazo teas. If I had some of Kelly's cucumber sandwiches to go with it I'd be set. ;)
Had some Kyoto Cherry Rose tea with breakfast today.
Always a good way to start the day.
Spoke to my dad today, I'm going to visit him in Texas next month! Yay! I haven't been able to visit him in over a year. It's really tough to schedule time off with my job but thankfully I work a 4 day workweek now so it's a little easier. I miss my dad a lot so I'm really looking forward to some daddy - daughter time. ;)
I went to the park the other day and soaked in the sun and took a few pics of the geese. They're so cute.
The more I think about my trip to Texas, the more I worry about the flight. I generally enjoy flying, even with layovers. I like people watching at the airports and checking out the gift shops. But the recent news articles about how crappy the service is makes me wonder if I should have bought bus tickets instead. They say that more and more luggage is getting lost and not to even check baggage if you can help it. This should be interesting....
Yesterday was the most fun I've had in a long time. Jackie, Daniel and I went to church and then had brunch at the tea room downtown. I love eating there it's always so pretty and the food is great, such a treat.
Then Jackie and I headed out to the ice skating rink, ice skating! I can't even roller skate what am I thinking?
It turns out that we had a blast, I had to hang on to her for dear life, but I skated and I didn't fall! Ha ha!
I can really do it! See, here's proof!
That being said it's a miracle I didn't fall and break my back but I had a great time. I will definitly go again. Poor Jackie had to hold me up most of the time but I don't think she minded too much.
After ice skating, we went and saw Enchanted. It was a cute movie. The prince cracked me up.
After all that we still weren't done, we headed downtown to see a friend of ours perform. Daniel always blinks in pictures so we made him take one of us.
We saw a couple friends from work there too, it was just a big party!
I love days like today. My friends are the best.
What's your favorite blend or brand of coffee or tea?
I love Kyoto Cherry Rose green tea. It's light, sweet, and has just the right amount of caffine. I tried it for the first time on our honeymoon, we found a tea shop that recommended it. They also carry it at our local tea room so I just buy in bulk from them.
Today we had Kelly and Grey over for Tea and Wii. We had a tea party style brunch with tea sandwiches, mini quiches, cucumber sandwiches, scones and strawberries.
After we got done eating, we played the Wii for hours, Brian finally beat Rayman Raving Rabbids. Most of the mini-games were rythm games which Brian sucks at so he made Kelly play all those levels, it was late but he kept asking them to stay just so he could beat the game, ha ha! Kelly and I also made plans to go to Raleigh next weekend to go shopping with our bonus money. Kelly shares my love for all things Hello Kitty, so a stop at the Sanrio store is definitly on the list.
They also stayed for dinner, Brian made a yummy pot roast and him and Grey picked up some wine to go with it.
I love days like this, having company over and just having fun. We'll definitly do this again.

We went to the tearoom with Kelly and Grey for brunch this afternoon, they'd never been before and really enjoyed it. Then tonight we went to James and Stephanie's for their superbowl party.
I love days like today, it's so much fun to spend time with friends we don't get to see often. Most of us work together but either we work on different floors or we have different schedules.
We're hoping to all meet at James's house this Wednesday for the new episode of LOST, I can't wait!
Today Brian and I invited Kelly and Grey to go to the Wilmington Tea Room with us for brunch. They'd never been before and they really enjoyed it.
We had our wedding reception here and have been comming ever since. The food and tea are both wonderfull, and it's right on the waterfront downtown.
We have so much fun with Kelly and Grey, we started talking about our favorite kids toys (remember popples, Jem and the Holograms, Lady Lovelylocks and the Huggabunch?) and silly stories and were just laughing and joking the whole time.
Now that we've got our Wii we're going to have them over for dinner, majong and Wii sometime soon.

Brian and I had brunch at the Wilmington Tea Room today. It's one of our favorite places to eat in Wilmington and we even had our wedding reception here. We got the usual, which is a full tea. It comes with a salad and a three tier serving tray full of scones, tea sandwiches, and desserts. We decided to try Blue Lady tea today, a black tea with citrus, passion fruit, and other flavors. So yummy. The tea room itself is just so pretty, and it's right on the waterfront downtown.
