Here's my character, Little Lottie. It's Hello Kitty's 35th anniversary on Nov 1st so there's a bunch of special events going on in the game. I was able to get a "kitty ears" headband for my character, how cute is that?
The last week has had a lot of ups and downs, I've had a lot of fun but also been pretty cranky due to STILL being sick... Yes I've still got that stupid cold I've had for the past 2 weeks I just can't seem to shake it. :(
Today I recieved "just because" gifts from not one but two people! How lucky am I?
This came in the mail today from my Dad, a sweet card, jelly bellys and some hello kitty candy tubes. Thanks Dad! He always likes to send me little "care packages" to brighten my day. I have a growing collection of cards he sends me, I love getting cards! :)
When I came into work today Erin gave me this, a cute hello kitty sticker kit. Thanks Erin! She's always good for feeding my hello kitty addiction lol! :)
Today was also Veterans Day. While I'm not the kind of person who usually cares a lot about politics, wars, or things like that, this day is important to me because of my Dad.
Happy Veteran's Day Dad! I'm very proud of you and your service to our country! I love you!
Semper Fi! :)
I'm still here! I haven't posted in forever because life has been so crazy. What have I been doing instead? Knitting! I picked up the needles again and taught my friend Daniel to knit and we've both been knitting like crazy.
It was tough but I managed to catch a couple shots of him knitting at work. See! I have proof I taught a boy to knit! LOL! I taught him the basics, trying to tell him to pace himself and start with something small and easy. He ends up doing, braided cables, intarsia and gloves (not with dpns but the 2 circular needle method!) in the first week and a half! Figures, I teach him to do something and he totally shows me up. ;)
I made him a dark redish-black cable cuff and he asked how to do a cable. So I showed him how and by the next day he made me a blue braided cable cuff. I love wearing cuffs now, so cozy and cute. :)
I made this pink and purple cuff out of yarn that was handmade with little Hello Kitty beads! It's just too cute!
I also finished 2 sweaters this week, a cropped sweater with really chunky yarn (I love quick knits!) and a sweater I started about a year ago, once I seam up the sleeves I'm going to add a ribbon and make it a wrap sweater.
Right now I'm working on kittyville hat from SnB, except I'm making it in white and I'll add a pink bow to the kitty ear to make it a Hello Kitty hat (of course). I'll post pics when I'm done.
Today I treated myself to sushi for lunch, I hadn't been to Nicky's in a while. I love the food there but I don't like going to restaurants by myself (still a little self-concious I guess) so I dragged Daniel with me. I had the BEST sushi roll, it's called Angel Hair and it's got tempura shrimp, avocado, cream cheese and crab meat, Yum! I willl definitly be ordering that again.
After work I stopped by a friend's house to feed her cats while she's on vacation, then we decided to go downtown and check out the Irish Pub (Brian had to get up early so he passed). I'd never been there but they had Woodchuck Cider, so I was happy. It's a really nice small place, no dance floor, no hootchie mamas, just beer and a little Irish music.
Passing by Finklesteins I saw an awesome Hello Kitty Guitar, I want it so bad but... I don't even know how to play! Ha ha! Then I saw some weird stenciling outside of the Soapbox, I wonder what it's about.
After the bar we grabbed a slice of pizza and then went to let Dallas (Daniel's dalmation) out since he'd been cooped up all day. I'm not much of a dog person but he's a sweet dog, even though he's pretty hyper most of the time.
Not bad for a Monday :)
