I have been so busy the last couple weeks I haven't even had time to make a vox post. I've been taking pics of tons of different things meaning to make a post about them but I've been to lazy to just sit down and do it. Then today something happens and I don't have my camera! ugh! It wasn't a huge deal, but it was pretty cool. I was walking along the riverwalk and heard some chirping birds... except the sound was comming from under the walk towards the water. I look down and see the most beautiful barn swallow perched on beam about a foot away from me. He stayed there for a while and stared at me before flying away. He was so cute! I had never seen one in real life before. And of course I couldn't take a picture.
Here's some pics of what I've been up to in the last 2 weeks:
The azalea festival was 2 weekends ago. I've gone almost every year since I was a kid. Now that I live downtown I really love it. No fighting for parking, everything was in walking distance, it was great. My parents came down for the day and spent some time with me. We ended the night with dinner at Yosake, they've got the best sushi.
This is Robbie. He's a local tattoo artist and a friend of ours. We ran into him last week hanging outside of the local coffee shop dressed like some weird kind of tiki god. Turns out it was just his birthday.
Wed nights at the Little Dipper is ladies night, so Erin, Kelly, Victoria, and I went last week. I got a lovely fizzy pink drink that I can't remember the name of right now, but it was great. We had the cheese course and a chocolate dessert, it was delicious!
It was nice to have some girl time. We're hoping to do this about once a month.
Took Sebastian to the beach last weekend, he really loves it. I'm so glad it's finally warming up, I'm hoping to go a lot more often.
I've got a lot of fun things comming up soon, including a trip to Texas to visit my Dad and his side of the family. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going to try to post more often to keep everyone updated!
This morning was really crappy. I don't feel like getting into it yet, so instead I'll share a few pics from this afternoon. I needed to get out of the house to feel better, I called in and took and day off work, and Daniel and I went to Southport and Fort Fisher. We took his dog Dallas with us, which was a lot of fun.
We spent a little time in Southport before we took the ferry, we walked around and let Dallas pee on every bush, sign, and pile of dirt in sight. I've never really been a dog person so it was funny to me how he seemed to stop every couple feet to sniff and pee, sniff and pee.
I love how downtown is right on the water, we stopped her for a few minutes just soaking in the sun and the smell of the sea.
We took the ferry to Fort Fisher to get to the beach, Dallas had never been on a boat before but he loved it.
After we got across to Fort Fisher we went to the beach, it was the first time I'd been this summer. I don't know who had more fun, me or Dallas. We went running along the shore while Daniel complained about the sand (he's not a beach peson). He had a good time by the time we left though.
