My mom just got me the sweetest gift the other day, a devotional for tea lovers! I really love it, there are also recipes for scones, cookies, and tea sandwiches included. I like to keep it on my desk at work and read the devotions when I have time between calls or on my breaks.

My Newest Obsession... Hello Kitty Online

Yes, I admit it, I'm addicting on an online game. But it's Hello Kitty Online! Like I could really resist!

Here's my character, Little Lottie. It's Hello Kitty's 35th anniversary on Nov 1st so there's a bunch of special events going on in the game. I was able to get a "kitty ears" headband for my character, how cute is that?

I had to download it onto Chris's computer since it won't run on a Mac, but he doesn't mind. He gets to play his shooting games while I play this, lol.

They had a closed beta version of the game before and I played it then, but then they had to shut it down to get ready for the commercial release. I hadn't been able to play for about a year or so. I'm so glad they made it free too. :)

These aren't the best pictures but trust me, the game is UNBELIEVABLY CUTE!!! I love it! Finally a MMORPG for women! I never thought I'd be the type of person to play one, but this one is the best. :)

The writing on the wall

Today I went to the Randall Library on campus, and went into the ladies room for the first time there. I don't know if they always have this, but today there were large sheets of paper taped to the inside of the stalls. Women had written all kinds of things, but they were all positive. I was pleasantly surprised.
I took these pics once I wad sure no one else was in the bathroom. There's no way to turn off the shutter sound on my cellphone camera and I didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea lol.

Trip to Southport

Today Chris and I decided to take a short trip to Southport. I hadn't gone there in a while, I'd forgotten how beautiful it is there. I love historic downtowns, it's like Wilmington's but without the night clubs, ha ha.

We took a few pictures by the water but there were seagull everywhere. You can always tell who the tourists are because they love to get them excited, lol.

Olde Village of Southport

This is an adorable group of stores call The Olde Village Shops of Southport.

The walkway connects about 10 cottages, they're mostly gift shops. I loved it! They're all SO cute! I didn't want to leave ha ha.

Pink Palace

The Pink Palace tea room and gift shop. The most ADORABLE little tea shop ever! They had teacups, vintage hankies, chocolates, and a small tea room in the back. We didn't get to eat there today but will definitely come back to do so soon.

After we got done enjoying downtown Southport we headed to dock to take the ferry to For Fisher. This tree was the perfect height to sit on, so of course I sat on it.

The sun was setting and there was barely any breeze. It was a nice trip.

We had a lovely time, it was nice to get out of town and get a change of scenery. The ferry ride home was the best, the sunset made the water an the clouds look so beautiful. I hope we can go back soon before it gets cold.

Road Trip to Rose Hill, NC

Today Toria, Dennis, Chris and I went to Rose Hill to visit the Duplin Winery. We all LOVE their blackberry wine, so we decided to go and stock up. First we took a tour of the winery, then a free tasting. We bought a case of several different wines, half was blackberry wine but we also got some of the Christmas wines which are delicious.

Then it was off to see The World's Largest Frying Pan!

It was built in 1963 and is still used for festivals and other events. It weighs 2 tons and uses 200 gallons of cooking oil.

Its 15 feet in diameter and uses 40 gas burners and can cook 365 chickens at once. It's covered right now, you can see the "handle" in the back.

It was such a fun day, I hope we can go back soon. Maybe when they're actually cooking something in the frying pan, lol.

I was actually able to get a picture of Tama sitting still and being sweet. She's normally tearing through the house leaving a path of destruction behind her. ;)

Got a few new things...

I got a myself a few goodies this week:

Notebook

My friend just opened up Look Inside Vintage at the Blue Moon Gift Shops recently and I decided to stop by and see what she made. I love vintage style paper on this notebook, and the roses! So pretty! I love how she was able to take a boring old composition book and make it into something beautiful.

Next is the Butler Bag I just bought, it's got dividers built into the bottom to keep everything organized and upright. So much easier to find things now! I added the ribbon and Hello Kitty charm to make it more "me". I love how it's not huge but it's still big enough to fit my macbook along with all my purse things and still zip closed. Perfect Purse Love. :)

And last but not least... My new Hello Kitty Toaster! My friend David gave it to me since his girlfriend's daughter didn't want it. It was brand new, lucky me! As you can see it toasts her face on the bread, adorable, lol. All I need the Hello Kitty coffee pot and then I'll have a whole kitchen set. ;)

Riverfest 2009

This past weekend was Riverfest in downtown Wilmington. Its like a mini Azalea Festival, there are vendors, performers and a car show. It was such a beautiful weekend, the weather was perfect. I had a greasy and yummy gyro but ate it too fast to take a picture lol.
